Ever feel overwhelmed and can’t keep up with the day to day tasks? Maybe you feel like you’re on a never ending hamster-wheel.
The truth is that lots of people feel this way and it’s because they’re disconnected from themselves. Since they don’t teach you emotional intelligence in school, I put together… 3 Ways to Connect with Yourself:
1. Identify your feelings. Google “feelings wheel”, you can thank me later. When ever you have a feeling within your body refer to the feelings wheel and name what feeling you are experiencing. This is not only helpful but it connects us to our feelings and slows down our spinning thoughts.
2. Carve out alone time. This doesn’t mean to sit there and do nothing. Instead, pick an activity you enjoy doing by yourself. The key is to get some 1:1 time with just you. This helps you shift perspective and feel more confident within.
3. Journal your thoughts. When was the last time you picked up pen and paper and wrote exactly what you feel and think? There is a psychological process by physically writing something out. This can help expedite and move through what you’re experiencing.
