How to Gain Self-Confidence Dating

Have you ever been on a date and think, “Is my outfit ok?” “Do they like me?” or “Did I say the right thing?” I get it, I have totally been there before. But you no longer have to question yourself because I created 10 (client proof!) ways on how to gain self-confidence dating:

Don’t blame yourself

It takes two to tango girlfriend. If a date didn’t go well or you said something that you regret don’t beat yourself up. Remember, progress not perfection. Learn from it and onward & upward!

Put yourself first

It can feel tempting to want to compromise your schedule to fit your dates schedule. But remember, you’re not an inconvenience. You are your own person. Don’t reschedule your plans to fit into this persons schedule. Instead, find ways to work around your schedule so you are putting yourself first.

Pick up new hobbies

It feels good to have your own interests and hobbies. When you do this it means you are keeping yourself preoccupied with activities that are positive for you. Creating new hobbies gives you a chance to put yourself out there and in return, you’ll get to know yourself better.

Positive self-talk

The “I am never going to find someone” or “I am better off alone” talk needs to stop. The more you put yourself down the more it lessens your confidence. You can carry this with you subconsciously on dates. Instead, replace negative talk with positive affirmations.

Buy a new date outfit

Wearing clothes that you feel good in is an instant confidence booster. It can also be fun to shop for a new outfit regardless of the date outcome. Feeling and looking your best can totally shift your energy going into a date.

Separate rejection from worth

You may be going on different dates that you thought went well but not for the other person. Remember that your worth does not depend on someone wanting to see you again. That deep inner self-worth comes from you, girl!

Enjoy alone time

At times it can feel lonely being single. Although, it’s important to do things alone because it preserves your independence. This is key. Being comfortable alone helps build a foundation within. The idea is that anyone who participates with you is just an added bonus.

Practice self-care

You’ve got to take care of yourself before you can care for others. Even the simplest things can help like getting 6-8 hours of sleep, eating all of your meals, and taking care of hygiene. When you focus on your self-care you will also attract others who do the same.

Take care of your needs

Yes, it’s important to find someone who meets your needs but you have to meet your own first. Make sure you are not looking for someone to fulfill them. Instead, figure out what your needs are and find ways to address them. Always put YOU first.

Share your feelings

Did someone say vulnerability? A way to connect is sharing how you feel about someone. Regardless if you get a similar answer in return, you speaking your truth is one of the most badass things you can do. Own that voice, girl!
