Your Future Partner Should Have XY&Z

Finding the one ain’t always easy sister. It can feel discouraging swiping right and going on coffee date after coffee date. You may feel like you’re lost on a map searching to navigate your way to finding your next serious relationship. Here are 5 ways to keep you enroute for what you want in a future partner:

Create an Avatar

If you want your person to show up in blue then good luck. But, if you are willing to create a realistic guy then do it. No, this is not shallow. It is important to have standards and know what you want in your next person. Jot down this future guy’s hair color, clothing brand, where he shops and eats. If your avatar has brown hair and you match with a blonde don’t limit yourself. This is only to get a clear understanding for the type of man you’re attracted to.

List of characteristics

There are a TON of characteristics out there so it can feel a bit overwhelming to list them out. You might be into the loud hilarious obnoxious guy or the studio artistic introvert. Writing this list is a great start to roadmapping the type of person you are looking for. The best part is that this list can always change. For now use it to have an idea of the qualities you want in someone.

List of hobbies

Do you even lift bro? Create a list of hobbies in which you enjoy. Yes YOU! If you can find a man that is already into the same stuff that you are then it makes the first few dates easy peasy. From there you can plan fun activities that you’ll enjoy together. In addition, I challenge you to write a list of hobbies you have wanted to try but haven’t. Go do one of them because who knows, you may meet your future mate at a foodie club!

Career Status

You may prefer to date someone with a career vs a job or the other way around! If you are looking for someone who’s driven then go for the guy climbing the corporate ladder. If you’re interested in someone who has lots of free time then you may want someone with a laid back job. There is no right or wrong way to do this. Although, this understanding is important for future relationship work life balance.

Financial Status

I am not saying to marry rich. However, I am for the independent woman who has a career and makes her own damn money. Finding someone to match your financial status is important. The number one reason for divorce is money. If he is falling behind on paying taxes or in a lot of debt, you may want to figure out your boundaries for how someone handles their finances. This awareness can go long way in healthy relationships.
